Review:

Uh-Oh : Toss a coin to the maker

Uh-Oh is a real one card game, I say “real” because the game is only composed of one card, and not multiple copies of the same card as most one card games do.

Physically Uh-Oh is a only one card thick, but if you ask me, Uh-Oh is more an idea and a set of rules than a card.

Real Player count

Uh-Oh can be played from up to three players without limit but there is a twist.  Uh-Oh plays in a succession of rounds and each round is composed of as many turn as there are players.  After each turn one player is eliminated, which means that playing with too many people isn’t funny as people would mostly wait for next round to start (similar to the ones dying first in The Millers of Millers Hollow). So it’s better to set a player count limit around 8 or 10 players (even if it is possible to play with more).

Simplicity Enhanced

Uh-Oh rules are really simple and requires People to bet a number from 0 to 5, passing the bomb from one player to the next according to the number given by each players.  The first 0 played arms the bomb and the 0 makes it explode prematurely.  The player on which the bomb explodes is eliminated.  The process repeats with the next turn until only one is standing.

From this small explanation you might be wondering : “But wait, why should I buy anything ?”.  And you’d be right, in theory, I told you that Uh-Oh was more a set of rules and an idea.  Uh-Oh is playable with any two sided token, you could play it with a credit card, a coin or your smartphone without needing the one card it is made of but it wouldn’t be intellectually fair.  Uh-Oh sells for 3€ (3.5 US$) worldwide shipping included which is really not much, so if you ever plan on using the set of rules developed by CosmoDuck with or without the one card, its only fair to toss them a coin.

Personalize your game

On the other hand, if this type of party game that is mostly suitable to keep children (or yourself, we are all children after all) busy while queuing in an amusement park or at your favorite Chinese Resturant while they prepare your order, you could try their Uh-Oh “VIP” option.  Cosmo Duck will let you be Uh-Oh-ized, for 50€ (58 US$) the bomb present on the card can wear your face ! Which means that you can walk around with a one-card game made of a bomb with your face on it, which is kind of cool I guess J.

So Uh-Oh, if you are into small impact party games, or need an activity to play when you got 5 minutes to kill, because you want to always be busy, just get it!
