Socially twisted kids edition is fairly fun in the realm of school age kids games. In a similar vein of games like storycubes, you get a story prompt and a card that gives you words you must try to incorporate.
This game is not for young kids since it needs reading comprehension and creativity, but our soon to be first grader is on the cusp of being a good fit and, like mad libs, this word game will build vocabulary and help kids begin to channel their creativity in fun and healthy ways.
This game is not geared toward an all grownup table but there are other editions that look like they would be. This is probably best for kids ages 6-12 with one or two older players if needed to help out. If that describes your family then this is likely a good fit. If not, then it is still worth looking at the family edition if you like storytelling games. Probably a 6/10 overall but a nice quick story filler if your kids only have a few minute attention span or to play between games.
