Foreword:
This is outside my normal board game sphere but I’ve always had a love for puzzles and when I was offered a sample of their products my first problem to solve was choosing what to try out. I’ll probably say it a dozen times during this review but these puzzles are beautiful! The effort and craftsmanship that went into them is extensive. Before getting a little deeper, the summary of this review is that I strongly recommend this product for anyone that enjoys a challenge and physical puzzles. Even if you haven’t tried something like this before, if you’re interested, I’d make the leap.
From the Publisher:
Space Box & House of the Dragon are a new form of intellectual logic games designed to play the story and scenarios of the EscapeWelt quest. Get to the secret compartment with your loved ones without leaving home! A thrilling experience, tricky traps, and intricate puzzles of the quest room await you. They are designed by experienced engineers who have developed unique puzzles and multi-level challenges. We don’t promise they will be easy. But we guarantee that they will be very interesting!
Disclaimer: The publisher provided the copies of both Space Box & House of the Dragon. The opinions expressed in the review are completely my own.

Review:
Initial Impression/Components:
The boxes are a solid construction and I was very impressed. It’s hard to explain how difficult it must have been to design and produce these escape boxes but it was apparent in every piece and how they interlock/interact. Each is handmade and eco-friendly!
Favorite:
I admit I found these puzzle boxes hard to solve. To me, that was my favorite part- and actual challenge. You won’t accidentally solve this in 3 minutes by something just falling into place. You need to put in actual effort and use some logical brain power.
(Did I mention that the look and feel of the puzzle itself was fantastic?)
Least Favorite:
It was another challenge to put it back together. I did manage it without too much effort, but I did have to undo and redo a few steps to accomplish it. As it is also marketed as a “gift inside a gift” for hiding a present (such as a note or money) inside the secret compartment, having instructions to put it back together on their site would be helpful.
Mechanics:
I’ll skip this section as well as the rules section as this title is not in the board game category.
Areas they did well:
• Eco-Friendly
• Handmade
• Very reasonably priced
• Table presence
• Challenging
• Attention to detail
• Interesting to Kids and Adults
• Wooden, solid construction
• Pieces interlock/connect very well – built with precision
• Excellent themes/visual appearance
• Nice story provided with each puzzle
• Can put back together and play again
• A hobby painter (or miniature painter) could have an enjoyable project of painting these
Areas they could have improved:
• Included a link to put back together or solve the puzzle
• Sand all components to be slightly smoother for kids (though this would undoubtedly add to cost and maybe take away from how the pieces interlock)
Overall:
I really have no complaints about these puzzle boxes. I honestly feel they would be an outstanding gift for anyone you know who has an interest in games/puzzles. I would have been very excited to get one of these at any age, even presently (hint to Wife for next occasion).
Final Thoughts:
This was not a paid advertisement, but I’d happily endorse this. I am all about eco-friendly products, handmade items, and quality, exceptional craftsmanship. These escape boxes answer all 3 for me. Two thumbs way up.
