You’re lost in a ruined building in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. All you have to do is stay alive long enough to find the one and only exit before the undead find you. So ask yourself: How far would you go to get to the end?
JUST RUN is inspired by the horror movies of the 1970s and 80s. Those Technicolor nightmares were both grim and darkly funny…weird and shocking…hopeless and exciting. I wanted to capture the mood and experiences of those movies – and then drop players right in the middle of the thrilling third act. No slow build. Just action.
I drew on my years of running rpg campaigns to create a story-like dynamic within every game. Drawing room tiles and search cards is suspenseful. Deciding whether or not to help another player is emotional. And most players will go from manageable fear in the first few turns, to wary overconfidence in the middle, and (finally) to absolute, anything-goes chaos by the end.
Ultimately, I hope you will experience JUST RUN the same way I do: It’s scary, funny, nerve-wracking, and frantic. But most of all, it’s lots and lots of fun.
JUST RUN is a medium-weight board game of horror survival, with elements of tile placement, deck building, and dungeon crawling. There are 6 distinct missions and 9 game play variations for endless replayability at every skill level. For 1-6 players, ages 14+.
Designer Warren Shaver says, “JUST RUN was inspired by the horror movies of the 1970s and 80s. I wanted to capture the mood and experiences of those movies – and then drop players right in the middle of the third act. No slow build. Just action. And, of course, the fun of freaking out with your friends.”
