iNZects is a roll-and-draw game from New Zealand, showcasing some of our interesting native insects. The rulebook contains facts about each insect. Did you know that the weta is one of the heaviest insects in the world, and that it fulfils a similar ecological niche to mice?
Setup is really simple – just grab the three dice and give everyone a sheet and a pen. You can laminate the sheets for reusability.
The game can be played in three modes: Solo Mode, Normal Mode (2-6 players) and Party Mode (3-6 teams, as many people as want to play)!
The three dice have custom faces – 2x T, line, curve, bridge and cross shapes – which are drawn in the square grid on the board, to connect the insects to their homes. When playing in Normal or Party mode, you take two dice to draw together on your turn – and all opponents get the other dice. That’s right, everyone gets to draw something every turn, so there’s no boring waiting!
Connect the insects to their homes to score in the three cumulative scoring rounds. A single insect connected to the home is worth one point, both insects of the same type connected to home is 3 points.
