Founded in 1968 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin by Gary Gygax (Co-Creator of Dungeons & Dragons), Gen Con is the longest-running and best-attended convention for tabletop gaming in North America. In 2017, we celebrated our 50th convention! For five decades, we’ve been gathering people around tables to play games.
One of the questions we get asked the most is: What does “Gen Con'”stand for? Gen Con started as a small gathering of war game enthusiasts. The name is a shortened version of the original name “Lake Geneva Wargaming Convention.”

It’s the pinnacle of gaming, the super show, the major league championship of all cons and well ….its a scab year. That however didn’t stop over 35,000 from making the voyage over rough seas or traversing the mountainous ranges of this fruited plain. Their quest to just sit at one of the many 6foot long tables that snaked along the 749,000 square feet of space of the Indianapolis Convention Center this year. Sit and play, and play, and play. What they played was nerfed from years past with the obvious absence of many of the major players within the game publishing industry. Who did show, strived to deliver a great gaming experience for all who attended.
After experiencing the show first hand this year and speaking to scores of attendees, here are some of the highlights and lowlights of Gen Con 2021:

Shane “Bogue” Bogardus- Reviewer
Born and discarded to the wolves of the great Northern Planes, Bogue grew up a nomad. His recluse behavior landed him in the penitentiary of the Witchic County Municipality with a population 2 -A man and his dog. Life was always a game set on hardcore until he met a mild mannered digital publisher who took him under his wing and showed him the miracles of game design and play testing.
