At a serene mountain stream, far away from the crowded lakes and other crowded fishing holes, there’s nothing but you, your fishing gear, and your friends (if you choose to bring them along, that is). Freshwater Fly is a new standalone game from Bellwether Games. A game of set collection and dice drafting, mixed with a bit of press-your-luck and puzzle solving, Freshwater Fly has players performing a series of tactical maneuvers while working in your ever-evolving strategy.
Fishing is all about knowing what you want, and how to get it. Choose the fish you want to catch, select the right fly for the job, and cast your line into the stream at just the right time. Depending on where your desired fish is, your line may need to float downstream for a while, or you may opt for a precision cast a bit downstream to snag the perfect fish at just the right time. Using your reel rondel, bring in your fish carefully. To do this, you will select a die to advance your reel to powerful action spaces. Reeling in your fish just right can set you up for a for an even more successful turn on your next cast. With more dice and bonus actions, there’s a steady stream of possibilities!
A game for 1-4 players, Freshwater Fly is your new fly fishing experience exclusively for your tabletop.
Freshwater Fly is live on KICKSTARTER from now until April 26, 2019 and has surpassed its funding goal of $24,000.
